Kustomize — Release Process Engineering

Kustomize is a standalone tool (and built-in kubectl feature) for customizing Kubernetes object configuration without templates.

My contribution

As an active contributor since 2023, I work on the release process and the versioning logic module, built in Go on top of the Git API — the machinery that determines version bumps and release readiness across the project's release pipeline.

Why it matters

Kustomize is used widely across the Kubernetes ecosystem for managing environment-specific configuration. Reliable, predictable releases matter for the thousands of projects that depend on it staying stable across versions.
